Tonya Knott
Co-owner Tonya Knott is seasoned public relations professional with a wide range of experience, including 20 years of public relations, writing, editing, and graphic design experience and three years of journalism experience.
Before starting aWebSiteCheckup.com, she was a public relations representative/communications specialist for a variety of companies, including two major corporations and two non-profit organizations. Her responsibilities included writing and distributing press releases, managing special events/projects, writing feature articles, writing newsletters, designing newsletters, writing web site content, and maintaining web sites.
She has a degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas. During college and after graduation, she was a reporter and an intern for the Dallas Morning News. She later moved to Austin, TX and worked for the Austin American-Statesman for a year.
She currently writes for McKinney Living Magazine, Women’s Enterprise USA, Women’s Enterprise Texas, Minority Business News USA, and American Indian Business News.
She is founder of McKinney Makeover Network, which is a volunteer network of McKinney residents and business owners who help deserving McKinney residents with free “life makeovers.”
She also served on the Editorial Committee for McKinney Living Magazine and the Advisory Committee of the McKinney Chamber’s Women’s Alliance of McKinney.
Her awards and honors include a prestigious Katie Award in 2005 and 2004 and a Katie Award nomination in 2000. The Katie Award honors excellence in journalism and communications.
Kevin Knott
Co-owner Kevin Knott has more than 20 years graphic design experience and more than 10 years of web design experience. He worked six years in the printing and graphic design department of a major corporation. He has also held a variety of other graphic design positions.
He is active in the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of McKinney Chamber’s Ambassadors, as well as a variety of other networking groups.
Knott has focused on providing top quality customer service throughout his career. Customers often comment about his focus on providing exceptional customer service. He always does whatever it takes to please each and every client.
Our Design Team
Our web design/Internet marketing team has 14 years combined industry experience and has expertise in Web site database/e-commerce (dynamic), web site-brochure (standard HTML), HTML e-mail newsletters, web graphics (banner ad/Icon), and Internet marketing.
Their skills also include custom MySQL/PHP site design and development, custom graphics creation and installation, and configuring and customizing existing open source and "off-the-shelf" scripts and solutions including: Perl/Cgi, Javascript, Java Applets, PHP, and MySQL.
We also code to web standards using CSS and XHTML. We are proficient in the following software: Adobe Photoshop, DHTML, DreamWeaver, Fireworks, GIF Animator, HTML, JavaScript, MS FrontPage, MS Office Suite, MS Publisher, PhotoDraw, PowerPoint, and Ulead-Photo Impact.
